My message: Dear Tony Poskitt of N Wales. Good to see your message in the Guest Book. Sutton School did have quite a few pre-fab pupils from Sutton Road and Frog Hall Road. Do come and see us when you can. As you will know, we are open on Fridays, and you can not only see the registers, but school log books, photographs, and lots more.

My message: Dear Susan Binsted of Pickering, Ontario. It's interesting to have your entry re Tran and Robson families. The Trans were well known in Stoneferry, but we need to know specific names. There are graveyard entries for Annie, Elizabeth, Hannah and James Tran. Similarly the Robsons; we need to know the names. The best-known Robson family in Sutton were Edwin and his family, living at Sutton House.

My message: Dear Valerie Corthorn (Kay) of Lincoln. Thanks for your message about the Kay family. It would be good to see you at the museum in your Old School, if you can get along one Friday. It's open from 10 till 2pm. We can find your name in the school register, and we can search the photographs for any relevant images.

My message: Dear Marianne Brooks of Hornsea. Interesting to read of your family's links with Sutton, especially the Balloon Barrage on Wawne Road. There is an excellent booklet written about it (£4 plus p&p) by Len Bacon. We have lots of photos in Sutton museum, open on Fridays. You can also see your name in the register!

My message: Dear Elaine Taylor of Winnipeg. Good to hear from a descendant of the Pickering family of Sutton. Charles P was a painter and decorator in the village. If you come over this year, email me at merrill31rhodes@yahoo.co.uk and I will arrange for the church to be open. Try and visit on a Friday when the museum in Sutton is open.

My message: I use to live at 700 Sutton Road, a prefab, and I remember rationing of sweets. My first school was Sutton school and I remember it vividly. I was five years old in 1948 and caught the 32 Bus at the corner of Leads Road where the railway bridge used to be. I transferred to the new school on Sutton Road when it opened as a bus went direct although I used to bike on my tricycle all the way! All the fields have gone now under Bransholme estate. I will now try to make a visit to the school as I thought by now it would have been knocked down.

My message: I am researching my Grandmother's people who came to Canada in about 1844. Prior to that time, they lived in Stoneferry and were buried in St. James Churchyard, Sutton, Yorkshire, England. I would be interested in gravestone pics for Tran and/or Robson families.
