My message:	I feel cheated by coming to Christianity from Hinduism. Main reason many dalit people come to Christianity is due to the supression made by Hindu's. If discrimination is happening in christianity also, why we need religion cant we stay without religion and lead our life confidently ?

My message:	I am absolutely horrified to read about the treatment of Dalit people in India. In Liverpool we have the International Slavery Museum were the history of slavery and the plight of modern day slaves is displayed. I will see if the plight of the Dalit people is documented there. As a British person of African descent the sufferings of Dalit people reminds me of the persecution of Africans during the slave trade and apartheid in previous centuries. However the situation facing Dalits today in a modern world is in some ways more painful because it takes place "internally" - that is to say that fellow Indians are the perpetrators of the injustice. It is like being abused by members of your own household - so much harder to stomach,comprehend and overcome. I would like to encourage Dalit Christians by saying that you are right--the discrimination you face outside the church walls should not continue to be a burden within the church itself. For this caste discrimination to carry on in blatant contradiction of the teachings of Jesus Christ indicates either the faith has yet to be comprehended by those claiming it...or that their claim to be a Christian is largely imaginary.
